Apology

There are many beautiful works of art that I have not gotten a chance to share on our blog, such as Cody's bird. I will get around to it before the end of the year! Thank you for your patience.

Op Art! Art that tricks the eye (optical=eye)

8th graders made this lumpy, bumpy, moving art that looks like it is coming off the paper! What does it remind you of?

Artwork by No-Name? (save me the trouble of memorizing everyone's artwork and write your name on the front! It has been a struggle to break the habit of writing our names on the back of artwork. Every art teacher has their own preference and I prefer the FRONT :-) Be proud, show off your signature)

Dr. Suess's Green Eggs

On Dr. Seuss' B-day, the Kindergarteners made green eggs and ham..., but they sure do resemble goofy faces!!

Zen-tangled Hearts

After giving them a worksheet with a variety of "Zen-tangle" ideas, the 7th and 8th graders amazed me with their tangling skills!

A very pretty way to recycle your old CDs...

For our ISAT pep rally, the cheerleaders got us psyched for testing with their "Rock the ISAT" cheer.

Safari Portraits

Not only are our safari animals painted with NEON (bright) paints, they are also listening to music!! How many animals have you seen listening to their i-Pod?

Drum Rollll...Diversity

While learning how to overlap, 7th and 8th graders made some very "Handsome Art" embracing Diversity.
Artwork by Lecharles, Kevin, Darrion, Kaelah, Kyana
Shontrell, Linda and Shaquanna related Diversity to their own friendship.

Also in celebration of Black History Month, Kindergarten practiced drawing straight lines and geometric shapes while designing their African drum.

Cityscape vs. Landscape

Can you point out which of the art below is a landscape or a cityscape? What are the difference you notice between the 3/4 graders CITYscapes and LANDscapes?

Cityscape Up Close

Today the whole school went on a trip downtown! Here were the cityscape art the primary classes did earlier in the school year. They used chalk pastels and smeared over a stencil to create the smoky look.
